Ravi is the Managing Director of Karibu Homes. He is an experienced residential and commercial real estate developer with over 18 years’ experience and projects prior to Riverview totaling 330,000 sqft in Nairobi, Mombasa and the UK. Ravi is a Director of the Kenya Property Developers’ Association and a member of its Policy & Advocacy Committee. He is also Director of Horizon Contact Centers, Kenya’s first state-of-the-art BPO facility, and Elephant Soap Industries in Nairobi. Ravi holds an Economics and Human Resource Management degree from Keele University, UK.


Irfan is a Founder of Karibu Homes and has been a real estate developer in Kenya for 10 years. Irfan has over 20 years’ commercial experience in East Africa as Director of White Rose Group and also as Non-Executive Director of Diamond Trust Bank, one of Kenya’s largest publicly listed banks. Irfan is Co-Founder of Honey Care Africa, an award-winning social enterprise, which has been used as a case study on numerous MBA courses. He was awarded the Ashoka Fellowship and Acumen Fund East Africa Fellowship for his work in social enterprise. Irfan holds a Civil Engineering degree from Queen’s University, Canada and MBA from Oxford University, UK.


Lauren Cochran is Managing Director at Blue Haven Initiative, where she leads strategy and execution for the portfolio of direct investments. Previously, she has worked at Imprint Capital, the William J. Clinton Foundation’s Health Access Initiative, and in private equity at Deutsche Bank and Diamond Castle Holdings. Lauren holds a B.S. from Georgetown University and earned her M.B.A. from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.


Moni spent over 30 years as the Managing Director of Elephant Soap Industries, Kenya’s leading supplier of soap and regional manufacturer of numerous global brands including Cussons, Nivea, Dettol, Johnsons Baby and Boots. He has since moved into real estate with developments in the USA, Canada, UK and Kenya. Moni has a degree in Chemistry from the University of North Wales.


Bobby is CEO of O-Zone, India’s largest domestic wireless network. During his 26 year career, he has been at the forefront of the global telecommunications industry with businesses such as Nortel and British Telecom where he was Global President and responsible for 25,000 people and a USD 20bn revenue stream. Bobby holds a degree in Engineering and Computer Science from the University of London and has attended the Global 2020 Executive Leadership, Executive MBA at Tuck University, USA.


Dipank is the Managing Director of MDHI and has 12 years’ experience as a developer. MDHI has developed over 500,000 sqft of real estate and is currently developing a 425 acre township in India. He has successfully pioneered the development of group housing societies, film studios, commercial developments, school hospitals and townships. Dipank holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Pune, India and an MBA from the University of Pittsburgh, USA.


Piyush is a partner of a Delhi based law firm. He specialises in Corporate and Commercial laws, banking, insurance, M&A, foreign direct investment and technology transfer. He is also a Director of property development company MDHI. Piyush holds degrees from Delhi University and Cardiff Law School and a masters in law from the University of Southern California Law School, USA.


Ian Simmons is Co-Founder and Principal of Blue Haven Initiative, where he oversees a portfolio focused on investments that generate competitive financial returns and address social and environmental challenges. Committed to initiatives that strengthen democracy, Ian is the President of the Foundation for Civic Leadership and Chair of the Youth Engagement Fund. Ian serves on the board of directors of the U.S. Impact Investing Alliance, Social Finance, Issue One, Organizing for Action and the National Advisory Board for Public Service at Harvard College. Ian holds a degree from Harvard College.
